What Premium Tender Buyers Usually Prioritise
In the air-deck category, different brands aim for different outcomes — compact stowage, lightweight handling, or heavier-duty “daily-use” feel. If you’re doing regular transfers in sun and salt, buyers typically prioritise fabric durability, seam integrity, transom strength and safe boarding.
- Stable boarding for guests/kids/pets
- Strong transom for petrol or electric outboards
- Seams designed to stay tight over time
- Fabric that handles UV + abrasion
- Easy pack-down without a “flimsy” feel
- 1.2mm Valmex® 2000D PVC for durability
- Fully thermo-welded seams (reduces reliance on glue)
- Aluminium transom for long-term strength
- High-pressure air-deck for safe footing
- Australian support + setup guidance
If your priority is maximum compact stowage, many air-deck tenders can suit.
If you want a tender engineered for daily transfers and long-term ownership, Aerowave is built to a higher spec.
- Board guests with more confidence thanks to a stable, high-pressure air-deck underfoot
- Own with less worry over time using thicker fabric and thermo-welded seam construction
- Run your outboard with more confidence on an aluminium transom built for long-term tender duty
- Pack down and store more easily without stepping into a flimsy-feeling daily-use tender
- Get support when needed with Australian guidance on outboards, accessories and setup
Head-to-Head: Zodiac Cadet Air-Deck (Aero) vs Aerowave Air-Deck
The comparison below is a general, buyer-oriented overview. Specifications, materials and construction can vary by model, year and market. Always verify current specifications with the manufacturer/dealer before purchase.
Both are air-deck tenders designed for compact storage. Many buyers choose based on whether they want
brand familiarity and ultra-compact stowage, or a heavier-duty ownership spec feel with thicker fabric and welded seams.
| Buyer Focus | Zodiac Cadet Aero (Air-Deck) | Aerowave Air-Deck |
|---|---|---|
| Core goal | Compact stowage + air-deck tender convenience | Daily-use tender feel (built for long-term ownership) |
| Floor concept | High-pressure inflatable floor category | High-pressure air-deck (safe footing + easy storage) |
| Fabric / build spec | Varies by model/year/market | 1.2mm German Valmex® 2000D PVC |
| Seam method | Varies across the range | Fully thermo-welded seams |
| Ownership support | Dealer network dependent | Australian support + help choosing outboard/accessories |
Bottom line:
If you prioritise brand familiarity and ultra-compact stowage, air-deck tenders like the Cadet concept make sense.
If you want a tender that feels more “commercial-grade” for frequent use, Aerowave is built to a tougher ownership spec.
deeper V behaviour, rigid floors, and serious structural spec.

Why Aerowave Outperforms Typical Marina Inflatables
| Build Area | Aerowave Air-Deck | Typical Tender |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric | 1.2mm German Valmex® 2000D | Often 0.7–0.9mm |
| Seams | Thermo-welded | Commonly glued |
| Floor | High-pressure air-deck (~8 PSI) | Often lower PSI |
| Transom | Aluminium | Often plywood |
| Ownership goal | Long-term marine reliability | Occasional use |
Price context: Many inflatable tenders use thinner fabrics, glued seams and lightweight transoms.
Aerowave is engineered for real marine environments — strength, rigidity and long service life.

Stuart. J –
Recently purchased the 300mm yacht tender boat, it’s just as good as a Zodiac or Highfield Boats, and i saved about 40% off there boat prices. I was a little worried the boat would not turn up on time, but it did, right on 29 days as Easy inflatable promised me. I live and work just outside of Airlie Beach so delivery was still free. The tender itself is really good quality, i cannot fault it. I did some digging around and I believe these tender boats are manufactured in one of the smaller Zodiac factories overseas. Thanks Karen and Sean for all your assistance, i was also wrapped with your customer service as well. Thanks again Stuart
