Maximum Stability • Built for Australian Waters • Family & Fishing Ready
The Viper 400 Sports Boat Package is built for Australians who want a safer, stronger, longer-lasting inflatable — not a disposable boat. Designed for family boating, fishing, beach launches and coastal use, it delivers exceptional stability, predictable handling, and real peace of mind in changing conditions.
This is not a lightweight tender or budget inflatable. The Viper 400 is engineered to be owned long-term.

Why the Viper 400 Is Different
Many inflatables in this size use thinner 0.7–0.9mm PVC and glued seams to reduce cost. The Viper 400 is built to a higher standard — for stability, durability, and safety.
Built Bigger. Built Stronger.
-
Class-leading high, flared bow
Rides higher than competing inflatables, deflects spray wide, and stays predictable when conditions change. -
German air-deck technology
Provides excellent rigidity and stability underfoot — ideal for families, fishing, and moving around onboard. -
1.2mm Mehler Valmex® 2000D PVC
Premium, marine-grade fabric designed for serious use, not seasonal ownership. -
Thermo-welded seams
No glue failures. Stronger seams. Longer lifespan. -
UV & saltwater resistant
Built specifically for harsh Australian conditions.

What Makes a Catamaran a Catamaran
Before we talk fabrics, let’s clear one thing up:
A catamaran hull configuration — two parallel tubes with a deck in between — fundamentally changes how a boat behaves on the water:
-
Stability at rest: Less roll, more confidence getting in and out.
-
Flat ride underway: Twin hulls cut through chop instead of bouncing across it.
-
Load-carrying: Weight distributes more evenly than on a single hull.
Catamarans aren’t just a trend in inflatables — they’re a design that works when you want more than “just floating.”

The Fabric That Matters: Why 1.2 mm Valmex PVC
Most cheaper inflatable boats use 0.7 – 0.9 mm PVC — and on paper, that sounds just fine. Lighter fabric keeps weight down and makes packing easier. But here’s the reality I’ve seen on the water:
Cheaper PVC (0.7–0.9 mm)
-
Pros: Light, easy to transport, lower upfront cost.
-
Cons: Wears faster under real use, flexes more in chop, shows signs of abrasion sooner.
1.2 mm Valmex PVC (Aerowave)
-
Pros: Tougher surface, better resistance to abrasion, holds shape under load.
-
Cons: Slightly heavier — but not heavy — and totally worth the trade-off.
The difference isn’t academic — once you’ve used both types in actual boating conditions, you feel the advantages of thicker, more resilient material:
-
Better tracking
-
Less unwanted flex
-
Higher resistance to wear from sand, trailers, and gear
This diagram shows how a tougher fabric gives you better protection against common threats on the water.
It’s a simple concept: stronger materials such as German Valmex 1.2mm fabric offer better resistance, which means a more durable and reliable boat for your adventures year after year.
