DDP delivery terms & conditions
These are the delivery terms that apply to boat orders placed on or before 31 July 2026 under our previous DDP (delivered duty paid) sea and air freight programme. They are kept here, unchanged, for customers whose orders are still in transit. Orders placed from 1 August 2026 are governed by the current delivery & shipping page.
1. What DDP covered
Under the DDP programme the price of the boat included ocean or air freight from our manufacturing partner to the destination country, import duty and applicable taxes, customs clearance and a final domestic leg to your nominated address. You were not asked to pay a separate duty or clearance invoice on arrival.
2. Transit times were estimates, not guarantees
Economy sea freight was quoted at 30โ40 days port to port, and the flat A$600 express air option at 7โ14 days. Both were good-faith estimates based on carrier schedules. They were never delivery guarantees and did not include time spent in customs, quarantine or biosecurity inspection at the destination.
3. Customs, quarantine and biosecurity delays
Once a consignment is lodged with the destination customs authority it is out of our control and out of the freight forwarder's control. Inspections, X-ray referrals, biosecurity holds, container unpacks, random audits and port congestion can add weeks to a shipment. Biosecurity processing of marine goods in Australia is currently running long, and we have live consignments that have been held for a month or more with full forwarder tracking in place.
This was a contractual term. By proceeding with your order and allowing the boat to go into production, you accepted that customs, quarantine and biosecurity processing could add a lengthy, indeterminate wait beyond the quoted transit time. Any period a consignment spends under customs, quarantine or biosecurity control is excluded from the estimated transit time. Delay of that kind is not a failure to deliver, is not grounds for cancellation of a custom-built boat, and does not give rise to compensation, freight refunds or discounts. We will keep chasing the forwarder and pass on every tracking update we receive.
4. Tracking and visibility
Sea-freight consignments were handled by independent forwarding agents, their carriers, a licensed customs broker and a last-mile courier. Visibility was limited to agent reference numbers and milestone updates rather than live parcel-level tracking, and the final leg after customs release could add a further 4โ8 weeks on the economy service.
5. Delivery, access and inspection
Delivery was to the kerbside at the address supplied on the order. Someone had to be available to receive and check the goods. Any visible damage had to be noted on the carrier's paperwork at the time of delivery and reported to us within 48 hours with photographs so we could lodge a claim.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Boats are hand-built to order and remain non-refundable. Change of mind, or delay caused by customs, quarantine or biosecurity processing, does not create a right to cancel or to a refund. Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. See our Terms of Trade and Order & Refund Policy.
