RIB Boats · Rigid Inflatable · Made for offshore
RIB boats built for Australian conditions
A proper rigid inflatable boat combines the offshore performance of a fibreglass hull with the buoyancy, stability and impact protection of a heavy-duty inflatable tube. Aerowave Sprint 330 and Sprint 350 RIBs are built with 1.2 mm German VALMEX® tubes, deliver a dry ride in coastal chop, and ship door-to-door across Australia with FREE 30–40 day sea freight.

Why buy a RIB boat over an inflatable dinghy?
RIB boats sit in a sweet spot most Australian buyers overlook. You get the seakeeping of a fibreglass tinnie, the reserve buoyancy of an inflatable, and the ability to deflate the tubes for compact storage. For yacht owners, coastal anglers, and anyone launching off a beach or a rocky ramp, the Aerowave Sprint RIB range is the boat that 'just works' in conditions where cheaper 0.9 mm inflatables give up.

Frequently asked questions
What is a RIB boat?
A RIB (rigid inflatable boat) combines an inflatable tube collar with a solid deep-V or planing hull — usually fibreglass or aluminium. The rigid hull gives you offshore performance, planing speed and a dry ride; the inflatable tubes give you stability, buoyancy and impact protection when you come alongside another vessel or a jetty. Aerowave Sprint 330 and 350 are proper RIBs — not a soft-floor inflatable.
Are RIB boats good for offshore fishing in Australia?
Yes. A well-built RIB is one of the most capable small boats you can buy for Australian offshore conditions. The rigid hull cuts through chop, and the tubes give you reserve buoyancy and self-righting behaviour that a monohull tinnie can't match. Our Sprint 350 is a popular offshore RIB for 3–4 anglers.
How much does a RIB boat cost in Australia?
Entry-level Aerowave Sprint RIBs start at A$3,895 (Sprint 330) with FREE 30–40 day sea freight included. The Sprint 350 is A$4,495. Every package includes hull, air deck (or fibreglass floor variant), Bimini, oars, foot pump and repair kit — no hidden extras.
Do I need a licence to drive a RIB in Australia?
In most Australian states you need a general boat licence for any powered vessel over 4.5kW/6hp. Licence rules and Boat Code registration are state-based — NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS all differ. We supply the Statement of Conformity and CE ISO 6185-3 paperwork you'll need to register in any state.
What's the difference between a RIB and a pure inflatable boat?
A pure inflatable has an inflatable floor or an inflatable/aluminium bolt-in floor and no rigid outer hull. A RIB has a rigid fibreglass or aluminium hull on the bottom with an inflatable tube collar on top. RIBs perform better at higher speeds and in rougher water; pure inflatables pack down smaller and store more easily.
Can a RIB replace a fibreglass tinnie?
For most owners doing coastal fishing, harbour running, dive/snorkel and yacht-tender work — yes. A 3.5m RIB gives you a similar deck footprint to a 3.7m tinnie but with more buoyancy, more freeboard and a much softer ride at speed. It also stores flat when you deflate the tubes.
Are Aerowave RIBs Australian-compliant?
Yes. Every Aerowave RIB is CE-certified to ISO 6185-3 + EU Directive 2013/53/EU and ships with a HIN, tax invoice and Statement of Conformity — everything your state authority needs for Boat Code inspection and initial registration.
