1. Registration. Requirements vary by state. Most states register any motorised vessel; several exempt small craft under a length or horsepower threshold. Check with your state boating agency before you order a motor.
2. Hull identification. We supply the documentation you need for state registration, including a HIN where required.
3. Motor separately. We generally recommend US buyers source the outboard locally — air-freighting a motor with fuel-system components is expensive and slow, and you will want a local service agent for it anyway.
