The two freight options in plain English

DHL Express Air Freight — 7 to 14 days

This is what 90% of international buyers pick. Your boat is packed, palletised in our warehouse, and handed to DHL. It flies. You get a tracking number the same day it leaves. It arrives at your address in 7 to 14 business days.

• USA (LA, NYC, Miami, Seattle): typically 8–10 days
• UK & Ireland: typically 9–12 days
• New Zealand: typically 5–7 days
• Singapore, Hong Kong, UAE: typically 6–8 days
• EU (Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Spain): typically 10–14 days

DHL Express is door-to-door. You don't drive to a port. You don't hire a broker. The driver rings your bell.

Customer contribution to air freight: A$810 for boats. Everything on top of that A$810 is subsidised by us. The full DHL rate on a palletised catamaran is closer to A$2,200–A$2,800 depending on destination, so this is a meaningful subsidy — but it's what we do to keep our boats accessible to international buyers who want them fast.

Sea Freight — FREE, 30 to 40 days

If you're not in a hurry, we cover 100% of the sea freight cost. Zero shipping charge. Zero. The boat is consolidated with other orders, loaded into a container, and shipped port-to-port.

• USA East Coast (NYC, Miami): 35–42 days
• UK (Felixstowe, Southampton): 32–40 days
• NZ (Auckland, Tauranga): 14–21 days

Sea freight is port-to-door in most cases — we've partnered with local last-mile carriers so the boat gets driven from the port to your address. In a handful of remote destinations you may need to collect from the nearest port; the configurator flags this before you check out.

If you can wait five weeks, sea freight is the best value inflatable-catamaran deal on the planet right now. Nobody else does free sea freight.

What is "landed price" and why does it matter?

"Landed price" is the total you pay to have the boat sitting in your driveway — boat + shipping + duty + tax. It's the only number that matters.

We show the landed price on every product page. Change the destination country in the Get Today's Landed Price widget and the total updates live in your local currency, with:

• Boat price (AUD converted at the current mid-market rate)
• Freight (air or sea)
• Import duty (where applicable)
• Local sales tax / VAT / GST

No "shipping calculated at checkout" games. No "duty and taxes payable on arrival" surprises. You see the whole number before you touch your card.

Country-by-country: what to expect

USA 🇺🇸 — DDU (duty payable on delivery)

Duty: Inflatable boats fall under HTS 8903.10.00 — duty-free into the USA. That's right — zero import duty. You pay:

• Boat + A$810 air freight (or free sea)
• Merchandise Processing Fee (~0.3464% of value, capped at ~US$614)
• Harbor Maintenance Fee on sea freight only (~0.125%)

No state sales tax collected by us — you'll owe use tax to your state when you register the boat, same as any private import. Most states have a boat-specific registration fee separate from that.

Buyers in California, Florida and Texas are our top three USA destinations. All three states have straightforward registration for imported inflatables — a bill of sale, the CE certificate, and a hull ID number are all that's typically required.

United Kingdom 🇬🇧 — DDU (VAT payable on arrival)

Post-Brexit, imports into the UK attract 20% VAT on (boat value + freight + duty). Import duty on inflatable boats is currently 1.7% — small.

We ship DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), which means DHL or your local port broker collects the VAT before releasing the boat. This sounds scary but is actually the fastest, cleanest way — no VAT prepayment held in customs limbo, and DHL invoices you directly with itemised charges.

New Zealand 🇳🇿 — DDP (all-inclusive)

For NZ we ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) — the price you see is the price you pay, GST and all. Duty on inflatable boats into NZ is zero. GST at 15% is included in the widget total.

NZ is our fastest international lane — sea freight in about 2–3 weeks, DHL Express in under a week. If you're in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, we're closer to you than half of Australia's own regional cities.

EU (Netherlands, Germany, France, Ireland, Spain, Italy, etc.) 🇪🇺

VAT rates vary from 17% (Luxembourg) to 27% (Hungary), with the majority around 20–21%. Duty on inflatable boats into the EU is 2.7%. We ship DDU and DHL / the local carrier handles the VAT collection before delivery, exactly like the UK model.

CE certification matters here — every Aerowave catamaran is CE certified to ISO 6185-3 and EU Directive 2013/53/EU. That's the paperwork that lets the boat register and operate legally in every EU country without any further approval.

Singapore, Hong Kong, UAE

Free trade zones with minimal or zero duty on recreational boats. Landed price is usually within 5% of the AUD price + freight. Air freight is fast — 6 to 8 days typical.

Canada 🇨🇦

Duty-free under the tariff schedule. GST/HST/PST collected on arrival by DHL. Landed price includes it in the widget.

The three questions we get asked most

"Is the boat covered by warranty if I'm overseas?"

Yes. Full 5-year hull warranty applies worldwide. Replacement parts are held in both Australia and our Hong Kong hub and shipped DHL Express to your door — never "Australia only". Small warranty parts (valves, D-rings, patches) usually arrive in under a week.

"What if the boat is damaged in transit?"

Every international shipment is insured for the full replacement value. In the rare case of visible damage on delivery, you sign the DHL waybill "damaged", photograph everything, and we ship a replacement the same week. This has happened three times in the last two years. Every buyer was made whole within 10 days.

"Can I finance the purchase from overseas?"

For international orders we offer:

• Full card payment (Visa, Mastercard, Amex — accepted in your local currency at Stripe's mid-market rate)
• WavePay Pay-in-4 for USA, UK, NZ and Canada — no interest, fortnightly fortnightly card charges
• 50% deposit / 50% before dispatch — the classic freight-terms build slot

What we won't do (on purpose)

• Ship without CE / ISO paperwork. Every boat leaves with the certificate that lets you register it legally.
• Ship without an HIN. Every hull has a unique Hull Identification Number stamped and documented.
• Ship without insurance. No exceptions.
• Under-declare the value. Illegal, and it voids your insurance. We ship at true value, on the true commercial invoice, every time.

A word on packaging — because damaged boats are usually damaged boxes

International freight is not gentle. Boats get stacked, forked, tipped, and occasionally dropped. That's why our packaging is genuinely over-engineered — twin-wall cartons inside a marine-ply crate on a heat-treated hardwood pallet, corner-strapped, and shrink-wrapped end to end. Every crate is stencilled with hull ID, destination, and orientation arrows so it can't be loaded the wrong way up.

The pump, seats, wheels and any bundled outboard travel inside the crate with the boat — not as loose parcels that can go missing. One box, one tracking number, one delivery. It's boring, uneventful, and exactly what you want when a A$5,000+ boat is crossing an ocean to reach you.

What to do the day the boat arrives

1. Do not sign until you've walked around the crate. Any visible damage — note it on the DHL waybill before you sign. This one line protects your insurance claim.
2. Photograph the crate before you open it. Four angles, phone photos are fine.
3. Unbox on a soft surface — grass, carpet, tarp. Never concrete.
4. Check the CE certificate, HIN plate, and warranty card are in the document sleeve inside the boat bag.
5. Register the hull with your local maritime authority using the CE certificate and HIN. In most countries this takes 15 minutes online.

Then inflate it, walk around it, and go boating. That's what it's for.
